Sanctuary now open

The 1st enclosure had been started when the urgent request to home the leopard tortoises was received. As Cape Nature agreed and issued permits, we focused on a new enclosure for our first permanent rescued residents – completed in 3 weeks including two shelters, and two water “ holes” for drinking and dipping into on hot summer days.

Another hexagonal 3m high enclosure is complete and work has commenced on a further larger enclosure, to be ready for rescued wildlife needing a permanent home.

Thanks to our auction funds, the water supply from the tanks is on tap to supply the rehabilitation facility and the sanctuary enclosures.
